Before You Visit

New booking slots are released every day, on a rolling basis. To visit a recycling centre you must make a booking. You can book up to 2 weeks in advance, or 1 hour before you visit, if slots are available.

• We aim to provide a friendly, accessible environment for all our visitors and the widest possible access to our buildings, exhibitions and collections.

• Please consider if you can store your waste safely at home until you have a car full to reduce unnecessary journeys.

Please note that CCTV is in operation at the tip and staff are fitted with body-worn cameras at all times. Landlords and other businesses are strictly prohibited from using the centre and all waste deposited at the site is monitored. If you do not have a Sandwell postcode you will not be able to book.We are unable to accept fridges or freezers at the Household Recycling Centre (tip) Shidas Lane, Oldbury until further notice. From 1 June – 30 September it is open 7am – 4pm.Visits to the tip are by pre-booked appointment only.Only Sandwell residents are permitted to use the tip.

Can I attend more than once a day?

Registration amendments cannot be made so please ensure you book using the vehicle you wish to visit. To book an appointment online you will be asked to select the type of vehicle you will be arriving in. Here’s how to pick your Happy Hour time slot. This is often the best time to top up your battery, so is the most likely window to overlap with its charging schedule. By giving you Happy Hours at the weekend, we can reward you for shifting your energy use away from busy times.

You must bring your booking reference email confirmation with you, if you have made a late booking. Vans, pick ups or cars with a trailer are limited to one booking once every four weeks. You can book appointments up to two weeks in advance and book more than one car tip booking. Trade customers do not need to book via the booking form.
